Dear Parents and Dancers,

It’s May! In just six weeks we will celebrate
a great year of dance with our
year-end concert. So much to do in so
little time! We are finishing dances and
fine-tuning competition pieces. Please
don’t get spring fever and miss dance
classes. We want our last concert to be
our best because it is our biggest and
most important audience. Hang in there
everyone! We need 100% attendance
through June 7th. Our teachers are
pushing hard to reach their technique
goals with each class and tap, ballet,
and hip-hop choreography is reaching
the time to start the cleaning process.
Enjoy every minute and get your
money’s worth! As we look forward to
company try-outs June 2nd, it may be
a good time to take extra technique
classes and even tumbling. As dancers
gain more skill, their confidence flourishes.

Money, Money!
That is what the studio needs to finalize
all those fees that hit at this time of
year... Two building rentals, insurance,
final costume payments, last competition,
etc. etc. etc! Please bring your accounts
up to date this week to enable
our studio to keep up with the bills.

Wanted!
Clear plastic zipper bags are in demand.
Not as many have been donated
this year and we have a shortage.

The show is split into 2 halfs. The
first half is at 5:00 and the second half
is at 7:00. Most younger dancers are
only in one part of the show but older
dancers are in both parts.

Taylorsville High School to display our
fabulous dances before judges and the
dance community. We will send out the
times to company members the very
hour we get them. They will be posted
on the studio bulletin board next week
in case anyone wants to come and
cheer for eMotion dancers!

Parting Gifts!
We are so proud of all our dancers who
have recently been chosen for high
school dance companies, drill teams,
and cheerleaders. It is exciting to watch
dreams come true and to know that
eMotion is the studio to help dancers
prepare for those opportunities. There
are so many of you this year! May we
suggest a parting gift? Please leave us
with a new dancer from your neighborhood
or extended family or friends
to take your place. 2-10 year olds are
whom we are looking for to train for future
companies. We will have fliers at
the desk soon to assist you in helping
us continue to grow! Thanks everyone!

Picture Days
Dancers will have their pictures taken
in all costumes to be worn in the year end
Concert. While there is no obligation
to buy them, we want every single
dancer to be in the pictures! Below are
the specific times.

*Costumes for ballet, tap, and hip-hop
will come home the week before pictures
and should be kept until after the
June 9th concert. We will send home
order forms the week with pricing.
We WILL be holding all normal classes
during pictures. Be ready 10 minutes
before your picture time. You may do
hair and make-up however you would
like.

Showtyme Classic Competition!!

Dear Dancers & Parents,

I am so pleased to release the results of our last competition on Saturday. We did it again gals! It was another thrilling day for eMotion. Every single company did a fantastic job and we are so proud of everyone. Although our results from the judges were amazing over-all, keep in mind that each category has a range in level and age. At times we noticed the dancers we competed against were much older and in some cases more advanced. That is just how it goes sometimes and it is ok. We performed well and stood out every time we took the stage. Our brilliant teaching staff helps set us apart from all the rest.

Congratulations to everyone for the most prestigious award of the day, Overall Studio Sweepstakes Champions 2012!! That was the best victory of all. This was awarded to the studio with the highest overall average of points. Every dancer and every teacher made this happen. What a happy and successful day!

Choreographer's Concert!

Here is another reminder about the Choreographer's Concert! Costumes will come home next week. The concert will be excellent! It is a shorter concert - great to invite guests. Please invite dads, siblings, family, friends & grandparents! We want a big audience for our dancers! Come prepared to leave your costume at the school after - bring clothes to wear home.

If you want to perform a solo in the Choreographer's Concert, please email and let us know ASAP. We will need the title of your dance and the music.

Aspire Dance Competition 3-17-12

CONGRATULATIONS eMOTION DANCE!!

Congratulations eMotion Dance! We must have had the luck of the irish with us last Saturday at the competition! It could be that we just have the best, cutest dancers around... and it could be that our teachers are the most creative and talented choreographers in the state... and it could be that our dances are the most original to be found... and it could be that our costumes are the best...but in any case... WE ROCKED THE HOUSE at the Aspire Dance Pro competition! Way to go eMotion!

We are so proud of everyones hard work. Keep it up and don't miss class. Our teachers will be fine tuning over the next weeks so that our dances look even better next month. We had a few little gliches here and there, as is to be expected at the first competition, but it is clear the judges hardly noticed. The director of the competition found me after the competition to tell me that while in the judges room, the talk was all about eMotion. Our name and dances were considered in almost every case while choosing overalls. That was quite a compliment. They couldn't give us everything, but certainly gave us the lions share of big awards.

*Our new company sweats were a big hit with the dancers! It was fun to recognize our dancers at the competition in eMotion purple. We will be doing a second order for those who would still like to have sweats. See or call the front desk by March 26th to get them in time for the next competition. 801.566.6222

Competition Results at a glance:

In the mini, junior & teen age groups combined there were only 11 Diamonds given the whole day and eMotion received 7 of the diamonds!! The other four diamonds were spread out between the other 8 studios. In this competition even getting a Ruby was a huge honor!
